About nth/works

History:

nth/works was founded in Louisville, KY in 1946 as Precision Tool & Die.  The company was founded by the Lenz family and quickly moved from tool & die builders to contract manufacturers of stampings.  The company has been located in four different locations and currently operates 2 facilities in Louisville.  The Lenz family operated the business for decades.  The company is now an E.S.O.P. and for differentiation purposes we have changed our name to nth/works.

The company embraces transition.  Not only did we transition from tool & die builders to contract manufacturing but we have grown in complexity of stampings and assemblies over the decades.  Today nth/works employees several engineers and Metallurgist, and expanded capabilities which now include two high volume powder coating lines for decorative parts.

Currently:

nth/works is a world class supplier of cosmetic metal stampings and mechanical assemblies.  We serve the Appliance, Automotive, HVAC, Lawn & Garden, and many other industries throughout North America.

We have presses ranging from 75 to 1,100 tons with capability to run progressive, manual set-in, and mechanical transfer dies.

As much as we embrace metal stamping, we are even more excited about product finishing.  Each of our facilities is equipped with multi-million dollar powder coating lines.  We also expand our product finishing expertise to applying graphics to painted and stainless parts.  We manufacture several decorative stainless steel parts with polish and brushed finishes and stainless steel product with decorative welded corners (the staining generated by welding is removed and brush and polish put back on decorative surfaces).

New finishing technology is in development and is targeted for release in third quarter of 2008.  If you currently have metal stampings that are galvanized material with e-coat and powder over top, you will want to contact us immediately!  Look for more information from one of our Sales Representatives or trade publications in third quarter 2008.

Tomorrow:

The transition continues; tomorrow is all about technology.  Extensive integration of sensors in dies, continuing to invest in automation, and development of new manufacturing capabilities and coatings.
